Company History
The Parts Depot was incorporated in 1982 to address a common parts inventory problem. What to do with non-moving parts that are not returnable to the OEM supplier? These parts cost space and capital as long as they are kept, and cost lost profits and customer service as soon as they are disposed of.
Originally founded by International and John Deere dealers, 1980s microfiche technology allowed the concept of dealer to dealer parts redistribution on a national scale.
The Parts Depot Today
Today the Internet provides access to our over 1.25 million part numbers from the thousands of dealers who have used The Parts Depot redistribution system to re-sell their non-moving parts inventory.
While the technology has changed, the
redistribution goal of increasing dealer parts profits, customer
service, space, and capital has not.
